As Edmonton’s ballet company, we recognize our responsibility to offer outreach programs that meet the needs of our community. Ballet Edmonton acknowledges a significant gap between those who can afford to experience healthy extracurricular activities and those for whom that is never going to be an option.

We have responded to this by creating free dance and adapted movement programs that are inclusive and mindful of the impact positive experiences can have in shaping a child or redirecting youth towards healthy and hopeful activities with their peers. We also see the social and physical benefits of helping seniors stay active. Read an article about that here.

Since 2015, Ballet Edmonton has offered customized classes to children connected to social service organizations, after-school programs in Edmonton seniors, inner-city schools, children and teens with Cerebral Palsy, newcomers with the Multicultural Health Brokers, and kids with Big Brothers Big Sisters/Boys and Girls Club.

We believe that dance is for everybody and every BODY.
