We all know that health and wellness are essential for every individual, but it becomes an even greater concern for children on the autism spectrum, and their caregivers. This challenge intensifies as these children transition into adulthood, facing higher rates of obesity and inactivity compared to their peers.

Kevin is one such individual who has experienced these challenges first-hand. And he’s not alone. Like many others on the autism spectrum, finding health and wellness programs that cater to their unique needs is difficult.

Our Solution- Making Every Step Count:
But there is hope. And it comes in the form of our local services that provide tailored health and wellness programs to not only students on the spectrum, but also their caregivers.

Kevin has significantly benefited from the innovative fitness programming at SAAAC, which has effectively improved his overall movement skills. Additionally, his participation in art programs has notably enhanced his focus and overall wellbeing.

This year, Kevin is taking a stand—quite literally—as he walks to raise funds for the SAAAC Autism Centre. His goal? To provide 125 families with FREE access to crucial physical and mental health programs. Programs that teach vital movement skills, promote healthy eating habits, foster lifelong friendships, and empower individuals on the autism spectrum to lead more active, healthier lives.
