As caregivers and parents of children with autism, we are familiar with the extraordinary strength, resilience, and courage it takes to navigate our loved ones’ unique journeys. The support and resources from SAAAC Autism Centre have been invaluable to us, making a significant impact on our lives and the lives of our children.
An Opportunity to Give Back
As beneficiaries of SAAAC’s services, we now have an opportunity to rally together and give back to our community. Our shared goal is to ensure more families can access the beneficial programming we have enjoyed. Specifically, the funds we raise will help 125 families access FREE physical and mental health programming at SAAAC.
Recognizing the Power of Mind-Body Programming
As a community, we have witnessed the immense benefits of programming that engages both the mind and body for our children. These physical and mental health programs enhance focus, build strength, improve coordination, and boost self-esteem. Yet, access to these invaluable programs can often be limited or costly in the broader community.
Active 30 for Autism: A Health and Wellness Challenge
To promote health and wellness within our community and raise necessary funds, we’re introducing the “Active 30 for Autism” Challenge. From July 1 to August 31, the caregivers of SAAAC will engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily. This could take the form of a walk, yoga, gardening, dancing, or any other physical activity.
As we collectively log these active minutes, we’ll be raising funds to support SAAAC’s mission and help 125 families access FREE physical and mental health programs.
